The Hunter

Synopsis

André comes from a long line of policemen: his father retired as a respected member of the force, and his brother is a young sheriff. In addition to their profession, the two brothers share another passion: Kátia, André’s sister-in-law. Kátia and André are irresistibly attracted to each other and embark on a risky relationship. When André takes charge of a major operation, he can hardly imagine that a betrayal will change the course of his career and his life. During his investigation, he finds out that his father and one of his colleagues were involved with the perpetrators. But to André’s surprise, it is he who is incriminated by his own father and imprisoned for three years. When he is released from prison, he is barred from the police force. Jobless and with almost no support from his family, he begins using his skills as an investigator to work as a bounty hunter in order to make ends meet. While looking for fugitives in his new job, he also continues looking for his own clues to prove his innocence. His only hope is Marinalva, a former prostitute turned religious devotee. She is the key to unraveling the kidnapping scandal that disgraced him and launched him on a relentless search for truth in the criminal underworld.
